When it comes to long-term health, by having stronger muscles, your joints will be more protected, and this will reduce your chances of injuries that can arise from playing sports or even everyday life. Strength training will help your coordination and balance which is going to help prevent falling. This is going to help older adults. By weight training, you will gain independence by having the strength to do things on your own and not rely as much on others for help for things like carrying groceries or even getting up from a chair. There also has bene research done that individuals who regularly strength train can live longer.
Strength training is known to reduce stress, depression, and anxiety. Your body when strength training releases serotonin and endorphins which elevate your mood. It will also build discipline and make your brain tougher. Seeing your body change overtime for the better can also boost your confidence and feel more in control of yourself. Strength training also will help regulate your sleep cycle lead to deeper sleep and can even help you fall asleep faster. Your memory can improve with strength training and leaves you at a reduced risk for cognitive decline.
